schooler

first day of school was close to perfect
meg was not crying/tantrums as her attention was diverted by ate mona
mat was asleep when we left
migi was excited
we thought we were 1 hour early so we went to liloan and stop at jollibee to kill time
but actually we were late since migi’s class sched was moved to 10am instead of 11am
but nothing biggy
i think his teacher is great
she was able to convince migi to let go of me in minutes
so i was just staying in the ‘tambay’ area the whole time
i find a mother chatmate who happens to be a neighbor also
but there’s always the but
the unexpected party pooper
everything is going fine except that they are only 2 pupils in the class — migi and another boy
unsaon na lang kon moabsent ang 1 =)
i felt like picking up migi and walk away and find another school right away
this can’t be happening
i want to see lots of kids (i guess i was used to the public schools i grew up to)
hay, how come when everything seems to be perfect, a spoiler will just pop out of nowhere
anyhoo, i’m no longer sad. you know, there are lots of kids not in school and here i am whining over nonsense issue

as the panda bear and his masters would say, ‘there’s no such thing as accidents.’
i console myself with the thought that there must be greater reasons why this happens
demmit dapat lang jud!

it looks like migi loves his school, and is excited (though it’s just his 2nd day) about it
that’s what matters most =)
and, sure na nga whatever happens, 2nd honor na jud sya! =) hehehe
i-laminate jud nako ang iya ribbon!

kung fu panda

we watched kung fu panda yesterday.
fun fun fun cute cute cute movie.
but half part of the movie, migi and meg were taking turns saying ‘uli na.’ ggrrrr
sorry to the nearby moveigoers nga gisamokan sa akong mga anak
i sooo like the movie so i bribe them with any thing under the sun that i can think of just so we could finish the movie.

any way, the line from the movie that stuck with me is
‘there’s no such thing as accidents.’
referring to panda bear’s ‘accidental’ appointment as dragon warrior

i don’t know what to make out of the line
but it made me think about my kids as sometimes i refer them as ‘accidents’ as they’re all unplanned (they just pop out of nowhere. hehehe)
i think about things i regret
the what ifs
the not-so-good decisions
the unexpected blessings
the people who came to our lives

i no longer know how to end this because i’m still thinking what does the line really means
‘there’s no such thing as accidents.’ =)

everybody’s first day high

i guess it’s almost all students’ first day high tomorrow. =)
it’s my first-born kid’s first day of school
naturally, to the highest heavens i’m excited
(i had enrolled migi by last week of april, i guess it was very early)
but i’m containing(?) my excitement for the longesttt time since migi might feel the other way around, as he has talent for that
and, also i might end up buying cutesy school stuffs that will be of no use — waste of money
so i planned to get to the list by start of school

* school uniform — none yet. when i enrolled him they do not have the sketch of the new uniform yet. and i don’t want to make follow-ups because i don’t want to look like an overexcited first timer mother.
* school shoes — he has a black shoes but i don’t think it fits as a school shoes. it’s some kind of a rubber/leather shoes. and, migi also complained its small for him
* school bag — his tattered spiderman backpack will do
* lunch bag — he still has his old robot lunchbag. he will have his lunch at school since his sched is 1130am-130pm. goodluck to his teacher about his eating habits. he’s not a picky eater; he simply does not like to eat. note to me: warn his teacher about this.
* crayons — i collected their broken big crayons, and those would do. i don’t know how many box of crayons i bought for them; i have a thing for crayons.
* pencil, sharpeners — none
* notebook, paper– none
* books — none

reminder: i need to buy more briefs. i’m not going to put diapers on him. his class is just 2 hours so i believe there will be hardly accidents to happen in that span of time.
facetowels
white socks

i still need to figure out the ‘hatod-kuha’. ate love is no longer with us since last week of march. nahalin si ate love sa iya textmate from leyte. it’s only ate mona who is with us now. there’s no school bus, no carpool. but i have will, so there must be way.

also there is meg, i can foresee a lot of crying and tantrums in the first few days. di man tawn pwede jud maulahi sa suroy ning bataa.

and most of all, there is migi — the unpredictable migi. shhh, nothing biggie. i’ll cross the bridge when there is a bridge. if not, i can always swim with lifevest. corny na.

i guess we’re ready for the big high. volt in! =)
