Lapu-lapu Shrine/Park

i did not know that lapu-lapu shrine is now a park, not until we went there last sunday. probably, my mind is always on sutukil every time i go there and does not pay attention to lapu-lapu. the place is clean and child-friendly. =) hands upf to the llc people. =)

What happens when you only know ‘automatic setting’ in the camera plus low batt? blurry pictures. =)

Lapulapu – according to Carlo ‘kita pepe.’ according to Migi, ‘bep lang.’ (brief lang)

‘Sicko’

a documentary movie by michael moore. it’s funny. if you have plans of migrating or going abroad, i recommend you watch this movie. it tells and compares the health care system of different countries. most probably, you’re not going abroad just for the health care but you might want to consider it in choosing the country you want to migrate or go to.

watching the movie, i realized that philippines’ health care system has similarities to US’s but of course US has probably way way way better system than us. think of medical insurance plans which you can ‘buy’ for yourself, or if you’re lucky, you’re company will give you one. i’m not going to elaborate because i’m just guessing.

and, i realized that i’m only exposed to US culture. how sad! =(

and, somehow, i kind of understand now why europe has laidback kind of life/culture, i believe their universal heath care system (is my term right?) can be one of the factors. everything is free, so why the rush? you get paid/reimbursements when you get sick. you can ask the doctor to give you a 3-month vacation note, and the company and the government will pay you for that 3 months. is it not grand? and, yes they have 1 year with pay maternity leave. wow! so, if i were there, i would have 3 years of vacation with pay. =) (edit edit: it’s not really free because there’s tax but still…)

i’m wondering which asian nations has universal health care system.

back to zero

all the baby stuffs, and even my maternity clothes were already given out as i was so sure that it will be still 5 years after will i become pregnant again. save for the wooden crib built by my uncle which no one is a willing taker simply because it’s not easy to transport. i wanted badly to dispose it because it’s taking too much space but i just can’t because it’s a gift. =)

anyways, we’re back to zero. i need/want:

the bling bling

migi is now in the stage where he knows he has rights. right to insist on what he likes. and, right to be stubborn about it.

one of the things we sort of get into argument is his clothes/footwear. when he knows we’re in for a ‘suroy,’ he would only wear ‘maong’ shorts/pants. and, when you say ‘maong,’ it’s the typical blue denim kind of garment. so anything green, khaki, black shorts/pants is not fit for ‘suroy’ times. it’s scream feast if you insist something for a change.

and closed shoes for ‘suroy.’ and his rotten superman slippers for next door/neighborhood ‘laag’ which i intentionally left somewhere so it would be lost just so i could get rid of them. thinking that he’d wear the new spiderman slippers. but still that did not make him wear the spiderman slippers, which led to many fights between us. so that bring me to just buy another pair for him.

to avoid future arguments, i tagged him along to buy a new pair so he could choose what he likes.  i really like the plain black/brown leather sandals, i did all the sales talk to make him like it. but then all his eyes were on those sesame street colorful sandals that lights up. so i let him choose which he liked from those lighting sandals, then he grabbed two. and, he said the other one is for meg. so, yes, we have 2 pairs of those blinking light sandals.

really, it was not in my list to buy those light2x shoes because they look plain dumb to me. not to offend anybody. (but i don’t think anybody here likes those blinking shoes anyway. =)) but when you see how migi and meg are soooo happy like it’s the coolest thing on earth, who cares about being a dumb mother buying dumb shoes. =)
